I have put this off as long as possible. My family now moves from denial to acceptance. On November 27th we lost a beautiful soul... Meet Patriot Patty In Memory of my Loving Wife. Patricia (Patty) M. Wilkes passed away peacefully in her home after a long illness on November 27th in Franklinton, NC at the age of 53.Patty is survived by her beloved husband, Ward Wilkes; Father, Phillip Moore (step-mother, Betty); Sister Dianne Reed (husband George and family); Half-brother, Terry Lee Young; Uncle Joe Wells (wife Judy). She is preceded in death by her Mother, Jimmie Sue Wells; Brother, Joseph Moore. Patty was born on August 7, 1961 in Fairbanks, AK. She began with a career as a beautician but later made a career change with long term employment at Glaxo Smith Kline in RTP, NC. She was an outstanding employee who received many awards for her accomplishments. She was altruistic and a dedicated member of the North Raleigh Church of Christ. Patty was instrumental with starting an AA group meeting located at her church. This exemplified her love, deep compassion and service to others. Some of her cherished prayers were Saint Francis of Assisi and the AA Promises. Pattys interests to name a few were her love for nature and passion for gardening. She adored her dog Alli and cat Herminie. She enjoyed riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle with her friends. A special heartfelt appreciation goes to Victoria Martin Johnson and Kelly Brown for their dedication and nursing care during the final stages of her illness. Also the never-ending love and support from family and friends throughout her journey. A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at North Raleigh Church of Christ located at 8701 Falls of Neuse Road, Raleigh, NC 27615. Pastor Ken Chaffin will officiate the service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Pattys life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Wake Forest Alano Club at PO Box, 413, Wake Forest, NC 27588 and also Animal Friends Shelter, PO Box 615, Bellville, TX 77418. Both are non-profit organizations and 100% of the proceeds go directly to the charity. Patty is a soul one could not help but to love. Baby Bear spoke of her often. (Patty made her eat all of her Kids Meal before playing at McDonalds. ;) ) When Erik and I deployed to Bundy Ranch from NC.... Patty was one of the many awesome Patriots who watched over my child and comforted my wife. She would join us at Overpasses in attempts to awaken our sleeping neighbors. She journeyed with me to Washington DC as we fought for our Veterans. Patriot Patty... oh how I miss you and wish I could have done more. :( Ward Wilkes - your loss is ours brother. Patty now smiles down from above at the wretched souls we are. Here are some pictures of an awesome American Patriot who loved both God and Country. Here are some pictures of one of the most amazing ladies my family was Blessed to have loved.
