I have read the comments from disappointed potential patrons of to Jazz on the Rocks 2015, with interest. There were 200 plots available that were sold out within minutes of bookings opening on the 15th May 2014. Unless Cape Columbine Nature Reserve gives Camissa Solutions authorisation to build a mezzanine level to add more camp sites, the reality is that the camp sites for the event are sold out. Yes, people who were not allocated campsites are disappointed but is it Camissa Solutions fault that there are no more camp sites to accommodate the 1000 odd people who were not successful. Instead of turning the page into a mini moan platform, lets look at some suggestions for people to stay in the area and attend daily. Lets post links to accommodation in Paternoster and the surrounding areas. These are my suggestions. Please add your suggestions too. Lets recommend that Camissa Solutions appoint/commission a shuttle service company with a proven track record, which operates independently from them, to transport patrons on a daily basis from their guesthouses or outside accommodation/campsites to Tieties Bay between 7am and midnight or 1am each day. Those using the transport, pay per ride to the entrance gate. It is Camissas responsibility to transport patrons from the gate to the main camping area/concert area using a reliable and suitable means of transport (no large buses) Lets get Camissa Solutions to encourage the locals to continue to sell food at the campsite as they did in 2014 so that we do not have to spend our time cooking but can enjoy the sand, sea, the music and the local cuisine on sale which benefits the locals. This is a unique back to basics music event. Lets make suggestions of artists we would like to see performing at this event. There are many great SA/WC based musicians/groups. If you were not successful to secure a plot this year, I encourage you to book at one of the local guesthouses and still enjoy the event. Heres to a great 2015 Jazz on the Rocks event. It is not an easy event to put together. There are many facets to take into account and legislation to comply with, when using such an ecological sensitive site for an event like this. We are looking forward to the announcement of the lineup for 2015. Youve set the standard with the 2014 lineup.
