I have returned from the Nicholas County Commission meeting that was held at 2PM. Mr. Charlie Bever was speaking, as I had arrived late and was not on the agenda. Mr. Bever spoke to the Commission, and to sum up briefly his exchange, he stated the obvious. (1) The Commissioners were elected to do the job. (2) That the 4 departments (Day Reporting Center, 911Center, Dog Pound, and the Courthouse Maintenance), all have department heads. If they are not doing their jobs, then fire them and hire someone who can. (3) The Job had not been bid, and why was Rodger Beverage the only person for the job? And many more reasons. Now Mr. Bever and I are about as far apart on the political spectrum as two folk can be but, as I listened, Mr. Bever was speaking for me. Although there are a few things I could have added, he hit the high points. Because of the efforts of Mr. Bever and others, the Commission has decided to rescind, or invalidate the hiring of Rodger Beverage until Tuesday the 20th of August. Now what I got from the Commission meeting was this, come hell or high water they plan to hire only Roger Beverage for this job. They say his pay isn’t coming from our county taxes, but from grant money. (But as you and I know, grant money is stolen from us, without our permission, and given back to us in an attempt to buy our votes. If the Govt. has money to give back to us then they took too much in the first place). And last we all know that the boss of the Summersville (good ole boys) is calling the shots. If you don’t know who the boss is call me and I’ll explain it to you. Our options are this, I still need everyone to call the County Commission Office at 304-872-7830 and tell the Ladies answering the phone that you are opposed to the hiring of a Coordinator, Administrator, or whatever they are calling this made up job. Be nice and be polite, these ladies only work there, and maybe are even for us. Second the next meeting is Tuesday, the 20th of August at 10AM. If you wish to speak, you must call 304-872-7820 to be put on the agenda, 3-5min only. (The agenda is used to keep” We the People” from speaking). If you don’t wish to speak, I still need you to show up at 10AM. If they see you in the hall or on the lawn with signs, they will be afraid for their job. Re-post or share on Facebook all week, tell all your friends and family. And last “Remember in November” vote for any Candidate (no matter what party for the next 6 years that runs against them).
