I have some some frustrating news to report. Yesterday when we picked Hailey up from school her aide had told me Hailey had fallen during P.E. and Hailey had complained about her wrist hurting. They gave her ice and showed the nurse but believed she was fine. Hailey had an eye appointment so we took her to that. I noticed when I held her hurt hand there was no pressure. I knew there was more to her wrist just being hurt. We took Hailey to urgent care and she had x-Rays. The Doctor showed us where her wrist was in fact BROKEN!! I understand accidents happen, I do not understand why I wasnt notified immediately? How many hours are between P.E and her being picked up? I didnt even get an official incident report. I know they werent hiding anything from me I did get a note that I took to urgent care with me but nothing with more detail. Im upset they didnt think more of it. It is a minor break nothing like a compound fracture thank goodness! Its still upsetting for me, her mom. So they splinted her wrist at urgent care but they would not cast it because there was no orthopedic doctor on staff. Ill have to try for an appointment this week with one, but with the holiday coming it might be tough. There are more thoughts I have but I dont want it to sound as if Im accusing anyone of anything. Hailey is in good spirits, smiling as usual. Im frustrated but I know its done and it always could have been worse and Im thankful that it wasnt.
