I have somehow managed to get back up to nearly 1000 friends on Facebook (even though I cleaned up my list around New Years). This is just entirely too much to try to filter through in my newsfeed &, quite honestly, Im sick & tired of half the junk I see. I am also beyond over people spouting their opinion or disagreement with things I post on MY profile, its MINE for a reason. I certainly scroll past many things I disagree with on a daily basis but I do not voice (or type in this case) said opinion because I firmly believe a persons social media profile is their space for their thoughts, beliefs, ideology, etc......Plus my momma raised me to not argue in public because its rude (and Facebook is about as public as one can get)......So Ive decided to whittle my list down to literally close family & friends. For many of you my hitting of the delete button will not be anything personal, however, some people fall into the following Delete Worthy categories: 1. I firmly believe social media is a 2 way street, if you are gonna go snooping through other peoples profiles you should post things on your own. Therefore, if you have a profile but you never comment or post on anything, you will be deleted. Admit it, thats kinda stalkerish ;) 2. If you send me one game request (I play zero games), you will be deleted. 3. If you use the Bible to spread hate & not love, you will be deleted. 4. If your profile could be confused with that of negative Nelly, you will be deleted. 5. If you use Facebook as FakeBook or BragFest or SelfieCentral, you will be deleted. 6. If you are consistently confrontational, judgmental, argumentative, gossipy, rude, or just plain annoying, you will be deleted. 7. If the only reason we are friends on FB is because we went to high school together, but we have neither spoken to nor seen one another in the last 20 years, you will be deleted (this one truly is not personal, but necessary in order to reduce my list down to the size I want it) 8. If we are friends on FB simply because we, once upon a time, belonged to the same church organization but have no other affiliation, you will be deleted. 9. If we have never actually met in person, you will be deleted (I dont even really know how these instances occur) hhmmmmmm....... 10. And last but certainly not least, if you post things that hurt, ridicule, insult, belittle, bully, degrade, or impose any other form of cruelty on others, you will most definitely be deleted. I have loved ones & TRUE friends from all walks of life & will not sit idly by while someone else hurts even one of them! In todays social media crazed world, it seems cites like Facebook can either be positive or negative instruments in ones life. My hope with this clean-up is to make Facebook a much more positive aspect in mine. Have great day all!! :)
