I have to get this out before it boils and festers... Good news and Kudos first: Thank you to the santas helper at Bass Pro, yesterday, who understood that waiting from noon to 1:20 for a 1:30 visit with St. Nick was tolerable and fun Joseph. When the 1:30 was going to be pushed back to 2:30, another helper noticed his distress and saw the logo on my hoodie (Embrace the Amazing). She came toward us, said she noticed me struggling with my walking stick and my patience with Joe, escorted us to the front,and mentioned that she recognized him from a previous CBI trip last year. He thanked her in all of his languages, presented the list, and flashed that million dollar smile in the Santa pictures. To the Walmart cashier, who tried to mutter under her breath (and I hear EVERYTHING!) he retarded ... her words and grammar error... it took all of patience, professionalism, and common sense not to hop across that conveyor belt! Hell, I am already nursing a broken knee! How dare you! But then again, how ignorant, truly ignorant, that you have little knowledge of customer relations, especially in regards to a member, or members , of the special needs population. The bread NEVER gets bagged with anything!! We lay out our stuff on the conveyor Monk style to help YOU bag it categorically! You were not worth me having the equivalent of a band director meltdown right there in the store...you would not have understood anyhow! Good thing I had 2 FISH cards on me! band kids know what that means. My son, and so many other beautiful people, are DIFFERENT...NOT LESS!! Rant over!
