I have to give a HUGE, HUGE Facebook Thank You to some awesome folks I work with. Jessica Koczergo Simon, Rick Maier, Kevin Porter, Sue Mahoney and I believe Ethan Bowman was in there too! I nearly could have died today at work choking and these fantastic people rushed to my aid! I attempted to take some ibuprofen for a headache and unfortunately one of the pills got lodged in my throat and was cutting off my airway. Literally I was choking and gasping and could not get air! I couldnt scream for help, I couldnt breathe in, I couldnt do anything but panic and sit there choking. After several seconds of panic (which felt like an hour) I started banging on my desk to get someones attention. I didnt know what else to do. Luckily one of my team members Jessica heard me and ran to AP for help. I really dont know how they all got there because it was getting fuzzy but I just know I looked over to my door and saw all of these folks coming towards me. Thank God just at that moment I somehow was able to thrust myself forward a cough just enough to loosen the pill and cough it out! I have never been so damn scared in my life!!! The feeling of complete helplessness and panic is overwhelming! I honestly dont know how long this all took but I know it was long enough for all my loved ones to flash through my mind and for my head to feel fuzzy like I was going to pass out! It really puts things into perspective being that scared! I cannot thank these folks enough for being quick to respond and thankfully hear me because I know had I not coughed it out I would have been on the floor. But I also know our folks are well trained as first responders and I know they would have taken care of me until help arrived. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to each of you! Especially Jessica who heard me and got help! Hugs to you all!
