I have to tell you that most of us here at abc13 KTRK Eyewitness News Houstondont usually get overly excited about a celebrity coming through. That being said, we were all downright goofy when Oscar and Emmy winner Louis Gossett, Jr. stopped by yesterday. Hes in town for the Concert Against Hate being put on tonight by the Anti-Defamation League, ADL - Anti-Defamation League (Houston). If you dont remember him from the TV miniseries Roots (for which he won an Emmy) or from An Officer and a Gentleman (for which he won an Oscar and a Golden Globe) or any of the Iron Eagles movies or dozens of other appearances on stage, TV and film, I can just tell you he is a wonderful man in person. In addition to being incredibly tall and handsome at nearly 80 years old, he is also smart, funny and very very gracious. We ran some of his interview today talking about his role in the concert tonight, but will have future excerpts from his interview in coming weeks. I promise you will want to hear what he has to say!
