I havent done this in a while because I have no idea if anybody - TopicsExpress

I havent done this in a while because I have no idea if anybody cares. I am told that friends and friends of friends read them continuously but I have no way of knowing. So please Like or Comment but do something. Prove to me that I am not wasting my time. So with that shameless plug being out of the way, may I present Interstellar directed by Christopher The King of the Batman Saga Nolan. Christopher Nolan is known for directing movies which are very cerebral and do not really follow what would be considered a straight story line. His movies tend to jump all over the place from character to character and location to location. Ladies and Gentlemen; may I present Interstellar. But lets take this a step further. Lets suppose in order to make the film as scientifically true to life as possible the director employs Physicists and Astro-physicists to assist in development of the screenplay. Ladies and Gentlemen; may I present Interstellar. Not that this is a bad thing; attempting to keep the story line as accurate as modern technology and theories propose BUT imagine if your head is here; this is the storyline about ten feet over it; and bam there it goes way over your head! This happened to me more than once. Actually quite a bit. This from a guy that regularly reads Discover magazine, technology posts on the internet, and has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. There was more that one occasion where the actors were attempting to overcome a serious problem and the discussion would get way above my pay grade. For example; worm holes in space - understood the concept; hibernation during extended space travel - understood the concept; the need to travel on a perpendicular landing path to an interstellar planet because the close proximity to what appears to a small Black Hole results in the aging process being slowed to that point that one hour on the planet equates to seven Earth years - Whoa!; there is a spot when you cross the Event Horizon where the universe is no longer 3 dimensional but 5 dimensional because you are throwing in time and gravity as two of the dimensions - Double Whoa! I guess what I am saying is if you love or loved college physics class; this is the movie for you. Maybe graduate school physics; definitely not high school. It is visually awe inspiring. And the acting by an all star and Academy Award winning cast (Matthew McConaughey as Cooper, Anne Hatheaway as Dr. Amelia Brand, Jessica Chastain as Murph Cooper, Matt Damon as Dr. Mann, Michael Cane as Professor Brand and my favorite Bill Irwin as the voice of TARS the robot) is highly enjoyable. I should give you plot of the film; almost forgot. The Earth I the near future 50 years I would guess is dying. Turning into a dusty barren wasteland for who knows what reason so we must find a new planet to colonize to preserve the human species. The old rats abandoning the sinking ship story. So lucky for us we NASA not that bogus European Space Agency discover a worm hole just outside the orbit of the planet Saturn which they believe if space explorers travel through the worm hole it will take us to another area in space where we shall discover habitable planets. End of synopsis. So see it? This is not a one and done. I would at least have to see it twice to figure out What the F is going on! Better yet. See it. Rent it and watch it again. And then write a detailed explanation 1,000 words/double spaced with foot notes and references as to why in the future we can design space crafts which have hibernation units on them yet it takes two years to fly to Saturn? I would assume that if we can hibernate, our space ships would have a little more get up and go. And if you find this review confusing please take a selfie of befuddled face after you depart the theatre. Appropriate photos will earn the physics students extra credit. Class dismissed.
