I havent posted about my time last week at the 2nd Indigenous Corn - TopicsExpress

I havent posted about my time last week at the 2nd Indigenous Corn Conference or the 40th Anniversary International Indian Treaty Council Conference because I have not been able to find the right words that would give justice to the beautiful and inspirational time that Emerson and I had. The experience was very uplifting for me and I have felt better than I have had in quite a while. When Emerson and I took down our tent on the last day we both stood there in the cold rain looking at the spot where we made our home for a little over three days and we both felt sad to leave. It was such a wonderful time, meeting new people, making new friends, seeing old friends, the fellowship was awesome. Emerson must have walked a thousand miles during the conference and as he walked he listened and thought about what he heard. This is how he does things. At night when we laid down in our tent he would talk about the issues and topics that he heard the people discussing and he would ask questions. When we got home he told his mother the stories that he heard and one of his favorites was Mitch Walking Elks story of the man who blow on his head to help rekindle his fire inside. He was proud that he got to participate in the morning pipe ceremony. He keep talking about the buffalo stew he ate and wanted to know when he would have it again. Tonight I was doing laundry and I came across the red hoodie that he wore and I could smell the smoke of the sacred fire that burned in the roundhouse, and the camp fire, and cooking fire on it, and it took me back to last week and so I wanted to post this. Mvto to the Creator for bringing us together in this manner and mvto to everyone responsible or who participated in the events of last week. I really cant put into words what a wonderful experience that it was. The Red Nations are strong.
