I heard a call from God Lagos pastor who specialises in hijacking lorries charged by anti-robbery squad altMEN of Nigerias Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad have arrested Lagos pastor Peter Iyasele along with two others on suspicion of hijacking a truck with N25m (£95,300) worth of goods in the Ijora area of the metropolis. According to the police, Pastor Iyasele,56, along with Anthony Ibiade and Amas Debar, hijacked truck, which contained 25 heavy duty outdoor air-conditioners, belonging to a company based in Apapa, Lagos. They were arrested the police were tipped off and they were then trailed until they were about to sell the products. Apparently, the truck, which was initially heading for Ikeja, was hijacked by the suspects, after which the air conditioners were taken to a warehouse in Ibadan, Oyo State. However, after the police swooped on the suspects, the 22 units were recovered, while one had been vandalised, with two already sold. According to the police, two members of the gang, one of whom is known as Oliver and are still at large. A police spokesman said the suspects were experts in hijacking and diverting trucks containing electronic appliances and other household items. In his statement to the police, Pastor Iyasele said he was working as a transporter before he took to hijacking trucks. He added that he opted for the new job to source funds to sustain his church. An indigene of Edo State, Pastor Iyasele, said in his statement that he heard a call from God but there was no money to pursue it. He added that hence, he had to source for funds to be able to survive in the ministry. His two accomplices Debar, 38 and Ibiade, 53, were the first to be arrested by the police before they led detectives to the pastor. Pastor Iyasele, whose church is situated along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway has now been charged to court along with his two accomplices.
