I heard a loud thump on my picture window this afternoon. I went out and it was a young Kite (like a miniature hawk) had hit it. He was dazed. I quietly approached and he let me carefully handle him. He didnt have any obvious trauma or wing damage, so I wrapped him in a towel and let him rest a few minutes. I took him out and he flew off, then came back and landed on the rail. I held out my hand and he stepped onto my arm wrapped in a towel. He finally flew off for good and looked fine. That was sooo cool. I called the raptor rescue in case he came back but he didnt. AMAZING! Maybe he will stick around and kill some mice.
