I heard a song while I was working today and it stopped me in my tracks. I stood there for a second and I just listened because sometimes music has a way of soothing your soul. Its a song by Jon Mayer called Shadow Days. The lyrics go... Hard times, help me see Im a good man with a good heart Had a tough time, got a rough start But I finally learned to let it go Now Im right here, and Im right now And Im open, knowing somehow That my shadow days are over My shadow days are over now After it was over I just smiled because my shadow days are over! I look back at my road to where I stand at this moment and I honestly wouldnt change anything. Every poor choice or hard lesson learned since I was a young mischievous kid has turned me into the man I am today. Ive never looked at another person no matter how envious I was of their talents or their material possessions and wished I where them, Ive always just been happy being myself even if I wasnt happy with where I was at in my life. I still have a ways to go before Im satisfied with my achievements but if one person in a lifetime reads one of my statuses and it makes a difference then its worth opening up to people. Ive always said to everyone Ive preached to about purpose that it doesnt matter where you start only where you finish I dont feel people ever really change but I do feel that what is important to them in their life changes as they mature. If your not happy with yourself dont give up just reorganize your priorities. I didnt figure out what was important to me until I was 27 years old and I had a vision of the type of future I wanted. Never give up on yourself, youre worth every bit of energy and effort to change your stars! Rise and rise again until lambs become lions!!!
