I heard a story from my Dad Jay Jarman that I would like to share with you. There were four frogs stuck in a pit. They were all trying their best to jump out and reach freedom but the sides of the pit were high and difficult to overcome. There were other frogs watching from above. The frogs above saw the prospects of gaining freedom were dim so they called down that escape was hopeless and urged the frogs stuck in the pit to give up, lay down and die. Three of the frogs, losing their energy and drive to continue, gave in to the calls from fellow frogs above. They lay down and eventually died. Only one frog kept vigorously jumping with all her might to reach the edge of the pit and freedom at the top. The frogs above saw her hopeless struggle and continued calling down that her efforts are useless, she should give up like the others. But the frog below kept going, kept jumping for freedom amid and despite their calls to give up. Suddenly! With an unexpectedly mighty jump, the frog reached the edge and was able to gain freedom leaving her fellow frogs below in their silence and joining her fellow frogs above... to their utter surprise! How did you do that? They all asked incredulously. Why did you keep trying when it was so obvious that all was lost? they pressed. As they continued to prod and ask why she didnt give up, they soon realized she was not hearing anything they said. Lo and behold, this brave frog was deaf. All the while they were urging her to give up and die, she had thought they were encouraging her and cheering for her successful escape from the pit. Sometimes, in order to achieve the greater and important things in life, we need to be like that frog and turn deaf ears to criticism and all the doom-saying that crowds our airwaves. Assuming everyone is on your side and cheering your success might be the most powerful tool in your escape to freedom and bigger things today. Go Go Go!! YOU can DO THIS!
