I heard one of the young women who started this amazing project and a retired teacher who had volunteered in Africa, at the school, and will be returning. They gave a presentation at Mitchell District High School where the student council are geared up to start fundraising for the African school for girls. Soon they will be selling copper jewellery made by the African students. The students do not pay fees for the residential school, but aid in sustaining the school by bringing food from their familys farm and engaging in agricultural endeavours at the school in an effort to contribute to their self-sustaining model. Zambia is a relatively safe African country and the school is located in a rural area where the students come from up to 10 km away. Volunteer opportunities exist to help teach the students to speak and learn the English language. Although English is the official language of Zambia, it is not most Zambians mother tongue; there are nine tribal languages in the country. I am looking forward to following the successes of the school and its students as it grows. I hope to find a way to support their efforts. Check it out! https://facebook/sameworldsamechance
