I highly recommend the use of Wikipedia, as the jumping off point for research. This response from its founder to proponents of alternative medicine quackery who were complaining that their quackery was being exposed in Wikipedia for what it is, makes me wanna jump up and shout amen. Wikipedia, come take my money, its yours..: If you can get your work published in respectable scientific journals — that is to say, if you can produce evidence through replicable scientific experiments, then Wikipedia will cover it appropriately. What we won’t do is pretend that the work of lunatic charlatans is the equivalent of “true scientific discourse”. It isn’t. So before you post stuff from natural whatever, please check Wikipedia first.
