I joined because I, quite honestly, didnt have anything else going for me at the time. I stayed because I enjoyed military service. The fact that serving is admirable, is just an additive that had nothing to do with serving. I dont believe that anyone serves to hear thank you or happy this or that....it actually feels uncomfortable sometimes. Ive served with some incredible men and women who motivate me NOW! Ive met some tremendous people and had some unforgettable experiences and sadly enough, that is what I think of on this day and other days remembering or validating the veterans gift to their country. So to follow suit or fall in line: Happy Veterans Day (feel uncomfortable) :-)
