I just called Verizon to find out the deal on the iPhone. Since my contract expires on November 15 and therefore my upgrade is eligible on that date, we decided together with the representative that I would be best to set up a brand-new account and phone number to order the iPhone 6+. On November 15 I can then cancel my existing phone number and have it transferred to my new phone at that time. I am told that I have to call to set up the phone at precisely 5 AM mountain time tomorrow and cross my fingers that I will actually get one. I feel like a sheep following the crowd. It is crazy.
