I just finished an essay on narrative theory and this is a good way to explain it but damn does it exclude so much of what makes a story or a character GOOD. Its chemistry and dialogue and these norms arent rules, theyre inspiration! The descriptions below have so little to do with what MAKES these characters and story lines so good. And yes, I will definitively state they ARE good. Its tiring to pigeonhole even fictional people, and I dont understand why people bother. Jean wasnt my favourite binary character but her counterpart Hulk was arguably my favourite in the Avengers. Well that chucks the similarities into a dusty corner, doesnt it? I colour my hair and sing in a band of boys so must be like every other wannabe Hayley Williams. Eh, no. I admit, Ive liked many posts in the past that compare character or plot similarities but this one is negative and I disagree.
