I just finished listening to youtu.be/ipAcg9V2k_w. Comments to follow... tomorrow? A tough way to spend the best part of an hour! But probably worth it and an acquired taste. With the peppered use of the word predicate I am thinking a lot about what correlations there might be between pure/synthetic reason and grammatical rules, e.g. at around 15:00 to 16:00. I am also wondering about the comment regarding the ease with which the vocabulary of categories can be arrived at because the compartments already exist (at about 34:30) -- has cross-cultural variation been investigated? Perhaps, for instance, plurality does not shape the worlds of those whose language does not provide pluralised nouns (is Japanese an example?) or for numbers greater than one (some Indigenous Australian groups list/ed items rather than counting them, bringing about a more qualitative than quantitative nature of understanding). Side note: In searching for an easy-to-read interpretation of this part of the book, I found a document (earlymoderntexts/pdfs/kant1781part1.pdf) that may be useful; although, I cannot tell at a glance which part of this document corresponds with the video that I have linked here.
