I just finished reading Number the Stars, a book Abe is reading for school. I LOVED it! It is by the same author of Gathering Blue and The Giver two other books I love. Number the Stars is about the German occupation of Denmark during WWII. I recently re-read The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society about the German Occupation of the Channel island, Guernsey. And I just finished The Book Thief about a sweet German family and adopted Jewish daughter during WWII. I am almost done with The Monuments Men about soldiers tasked to preserve historic and cultural monuments and art in WWII. Im not sure why all the WWII themed books lately, but I have loved them all.
