I just finished speaking at Hanley Hazeldon, my Alma Mater. Like the other times Ive been honored by being asked to share my Experiance, Strength and Hope....I thought I had nothing really that great to say. During the hour long speech, there was a young man in a wheelchair staring at me. He suddenly, 1/3 of the way in, grabbed his crutches, stood up, and stayed standing the rest of the 45 minutes. When I was leaving, he hobbled over to thank me for inspiring him to believe in yourself, know what u want, dont make any more excuses or be confused with people saying You cant, You Shouldnt etc when u know you can. He had fallen yesterday and sprained his neck, refused medication and was ordered to use the wheelchair and crutches. When he hugged me, let go of of the crutches , looked at me and said I know you will catch me if I fall. I replied and I know that you can do it.! He did it, without falling....Like I knew He could. He was 17. We hugged for like five minutes. As I left I said..You are on your own. You dont need a hero. You have You. and he said and Ill have u in my heart and my head forever. Thank you. I am Beyond moved at the power of ones sheer will. So very Blessed.
