I just found out that a person who was a good friend at one time died back in July, 5 days after his 38th Birthday. Blew me away, he was in the ministry but had much controversy and many issues surrounding his person and his ministry. We think he may have died of AIDS we cannot be sure as the cause was kept from public knowledge. There were many things that actually lent credence to this theory as in the past there were accusations that Evann was gay, that he also was involved with the gay community in a very abnormal and unclean manner. There were also accusations that he was involved in some unsavory financial matters as well. We knew that these serious accusations were in fact true as they were investigated by a Sheriffs CSI who went to his Ministry and was on church staff. When she was investigating these irregularities she found the evidence that supported the accusations, several pastors actually confronted Evann regarding these matters but he denied them, and shut down the church. We who went to his ministry found out on Easter Sunday after the church doors were closed. That was 17 years ago. Today I found out he was dying of an unnamed illness, was on O2, and could not get out of bed for a whole week or longer before he died. This whole thing leaves me with a bunch mixed emotions. When I first met Evann he was compassionate, understanding and caring and a man who gave strong accurate words from the Lord. He was 17 years old, after about a year and a half everything went bizarrely haywire and he changed. He became secretive and began fellowshipping with people that were a mess and hanging out with them much more than he should have. Later the church began moving from building to building every 6 to 9 months or so. Then people none of us even knew came into the ministry and began laying hands on people and there seemed to be alot of people from the gay community who were involved with Evann personally and on the ministry staff; people we did not even know. Then Pastors who had been visiting the ministry in the past were giving words of warning publicly and then leaving the ministry. Then that day 17 years ago the ministry was mysteriously shut down and we found out there had been massive financial malfeasance and that he had used all the ministry money for his own lavish lifestyle and for his new friends. I left after that and I was a mess. my heart was seriously broken after all that. It took a few years of deep prayer and intensive ministry from some dear brothers in the Lord to get over it all. When I found out that Evann died earlier this year, a deep sadness gripped my soul, but also a profound consideration of the fear of the Lord. We never get away with things if we do not repent from them. Gods sees all and knows all, and He is no joke, He means it when he says we are to fear Him and to reverence Him. He does not take kindly the cheating and using of His sheep, the fleecing of the sheep of His hand. He means it when He when he commands his leaders to live right and to take good care of His sheep.
