I just had to share the story about these dresses. We really never grow up, we just get bigger, I remember I had a little scruffy pink blanket which I had named Pinky, I dragged it around everywhere, mum had a job getting it off me just to wash it. Funny thing is most of us dont remember having a special toy or blanket we wouldnt part with. I am not much different today. 5 years back I bought a dress from The Australian Red Cross Nothing fancy. I loved wearing it, infact I had it on almost daily at one point. I didnt like having to wash it but I did. Infact I had it on both times I was rushed off to hospital, therefore old faithful was by my side in the drawer next to my bed, and I walked out in it the day I left. lol :) This is the dress Ive designated to wear in death. I have a lot of really lovely clothes, yet somehow I love this one in particular like Pinky. It is wearing out. The other day I caught the front of it on the door latch as I came in with a handful of washing. OMG lol!! my dress, my pride and joy, Oh my second skin? Pinky where are you lol! I have often wished I could find another one just the same, not just a little the same but EXACTLY. That was a real long shot like winning Lotto. Just today I decided to stop at the bank at Mudgeeraba, I had not bee down there in a while. There is a little St Vinnies shop I have to pass on the way. I wasnt going to go in, but I did, just for a look. Going through the dress racks guess what?? Yep there it was, a brand spanking new model of my old one. Same size colour style. I thought I was dreaming, I yelled OMG Ahhhh!!! I found it at last someone had heard me up there. My second skin couldnt have come along at a better time. So Am I getting rid of the old one mum wanted to know. OF COURSE NOT. The tear will be fixed and now I will have two. One old one and another new one. HOW GOOD IS THAT? I just had to share. Something doesnt have to be flash and fancy just to be so adored. I love my army style dresses. Now I have two. Left one old...Right one new. Me & old faithful just out of hospital August 2013
