I just met the nicest man and his tan colored pit bull dog, Jake. They were hanging out behind a convenience store near I-10 and Washington. This man, Macon, and I spoke for a short time. He didnt need food or coffee and Jake was taken care of too. I would have given him money if I had any cash. His love for his dog was evident. Walking back to my car after our conversation, I realized homeless people have a story and a humanity that is all their own. Its amazing this man, who society often disregards, touched my heart today. If any of you see Macon and Jake (or any homeless people), stop for a chat. They are truly kind souls.
