I just now dropped my Elementary Spanish II class, SPA102. I liked my teacher, but three things caused me issues. Firstly, she doesnt use Canvas (like Blackboard) to notify us using things online, so I dont know where I stand in my grades or homework due dates/changes. Very frustrating when all other classes use that infrastructure. Secondly, I cant find my mandatory online code key I purchased with my text book. I need that to do homework and online quizzes. Ive looked everywhere - chalk it up to my ghost - see Day 8 ThirtyThings posted yesterday. I put it on my side table and its gone. Thirdly, its been THREE DECADES since I last took Elementary Spanish I SPA101 and well, Im a little rusty, however, surprisingly, I caught up 75% in just two classes. But its that last 25% that got me - I mostly knew what was going on, but mostly doesnt cut it with me. I want to OWN what I learn, not fake it or just get by. Im an all or nothing girl... Im not gonna do so-so work. Plus, I started my class missing the first day due to eligibility requirements not validated in time for day one. So, three decades later, Ive been playing catchup while playing catchup - a recipe for disaster. Lastly (hey, thats 4 things - lol), I had a huge schedule gap between classes... 8am til 9:40am then THREE hours until my next class. I either used more gas commuting or was on campus with a three hour layover. Both choices had their benefits. If it seems as if Im over explaining, I am. I dont like quitting anything. In fact, its very defeating for me, but I felt this move is in my best interest. Im gonna look into a remedial class or one that is comprehensive covering both I & II combined as Im doing in my fast track math classes this semester and plan for next semester. So, now, my schedule suddenly got a lot lighter and my Monday/Wednesday mornings are free to do homework or breakfast/coffee with some of you. Im good with that :)
