So to help celebrate NZ Music Month, George FM are looking for their top 42 New Zealand electronic tunes of all time - and my tune Lyric On My Lip is one of the nominees. It is actually the 10 year anniversary of that tune this year, and I remember when I made it with Mr Roni Size it created a huuuuuge stir that as a little Kiwi girl from a dairy farm in Taranaki - I could never have anticipated! It was the first ever Female MC led tune to drop in the DnB scene, it went into the UK top 40 before wed even made a video for it, and spawned remixes from Dj Marky Ed Rush & Optical and ANDY C. It also helped pave the way for other Kiwi DnB artists to make their mark on the international scene, including Concord Dawn, Shapeshifter and The Upbeats. Not bad huh?
