I just read the Paris Review interview with the French novelist - TopicsExpress

I just read the Paris Review interview with the French novelist Michel Houellebecq. He is perhaps one of the most unreflective writers I have ever heard interviewed. His lack of depth, intellectual curiosity, and reflection on social responsibility is something I would expect from a sullen freshmen forced to take a 9 AM class. Has anyone read his work? Am I justified in these thoughts, or are his novels better?
