I just saw a cat get returned to the shelter after TWO DAYS because of aggression between 2 cats. If you dont think you have the patients to bring a new cat into your, already established cats, home territory slowly(2 to 4 weeks), dont do it at all! Its a long term agreement to take the life of a cat on as responsibility, do it right. DO NOT rush it. Be patient and you will be rewarded. Here is a video that diagrams a general rule of thumb. Remember slight tweeks(not complete deviations), dialed into the specific personalities of your cats may be necessary but the general premis of allowing the new cat to slowly gain part ownership of the collective territory in a non threatening, gradual, secure and calculated manor is vital. You supply the personal space and let the cats set the pace. If you dont have the patients for this, get a gold fish. Good luck.
