I just thought I would re-share this romantic, but poignant, story for Saint Valentines Day. Janet was my next door neighbour growing up in Wotton-Under-Edge, although only for the first 2 years of my life, so I dont remember her living there, just visiting after she was married. Like us she grew up Under the Hill Wotton Hill that is, the hill becomes ingrained into your soul, you play there, walk there, court there and, if your lucky, receive a proposal there!
