I just wrote this NOT GOOD review on the Citibank page (below). Just in case they review & remove it, here ya go....! #ANGRY #citibankisinthewrong #onechanceandonechanceonly #youdontwannagothere #theyopenedupacanofwhoopass #tickedoff #prayforTHEM #didyouthinkyoualreadywonthisfight ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ I received a letter from you today stating my credit card for a major retailer has been closed due to you not having my current address on file, being unable to verify my address, etc.... There was a customer service phone # listed. I called. I asked how they were able to mail me this letter if they did not actually have my current address on file. (I didnt aim for sarcasm, but it sure does fit, right?) I asked that my credit card be reopened since I have called numerous times over the last few months for different things, each time verifying my address at the representatives request. (At least 75% or more of those calls resulted in the representative stating that the address was in fact correct in the system!) I next got to speak to a manager from your bank who told me my issue is black and white and that nothing could be done other than having me reapply (which means credit check, time, etc; and I shouldnt have to do that since I did not close the account or do anything wrong to have it closed in the first place!) and accept it. They apparently sent a new card/new terms 4 times with each mailing being returned to them. Again, not my fault. The manager said I could contact the post office. I noted I never received any follow up mail, email or calls after these items were returned. If there is a post office issue, how would I know that? I have an address; I pick up the mail left in my box. Thats it. I was told someone could call me back within 48 hours per my request. I responded by saying my request is not for a call back, but for my card to be reopened. I said Id like to speak to his boss or whoever could grant my request, because the black and white of it is: I did nothing to have the card/account closed; and theres is some glitch on your side or the post office with communication being crossed, etc. I tried to use my card at the beginning of May. It did not work. When I called to see why within the next few days, I verified the address again because they said I missed a payment, and I had not gotten a bill. I then paid off the balance of this card (overpayed actually) on May 13, 2014. (The recording when I called about todays letter said the payment was processed as a late fee removal. Uh, no. It was a normal payment!) The letter I received today is dated May 30, 2014. The date my account was closed is listed as May 13, 2014. Really? You got my money, so now you dont want to deal with continued address issues, or possible system glitches on your part, or explaining new information, or giving good customer service; and you close the account to try to force me to reapply so you can do this to me again and again? I think not. I should not have had to call so many times in the last few months anyway. I should not have even had to spend the time writing this message. But I am beyond angry. I want my card reopened; I want a credit or certificate for my inconvenience (understatement!). This, to me, is reasonable. If this doesnt happen by June 20, 2014, I will not ask again; I will never do business with citibank on any level; and I will encourage those I know and those I dont know to seek banking or credit card services elsewhere.
