I keep hearing that the SEC is, by far, the best conference in the country (this might be because I live in GA). That being said, its members havent really played many teams from power conferences and the results have been not all that impressive. Alabama beat a 6-5 W. Virginia team by 10 on a neutral field Missouri, who may be playing for a SEC title, lost to Indiana Auburn and LSU beat teams from power conferences in VERY close games. GA killed a pretty mediocre Clemson Am I missing something? I think people assume that these teams all play great teams in conference every week, but its also entirely possible that the conference itself is very good but not great and the games are close to the difficulty level of, say, the PAC-10.
