I knew they called her Hanoi Jane, I knew she was opposed to the war but I was young enough to only be concerned with how the Vietnam war affected ME. My father was deployed (submarine service) and that was ALL the war meant to me... he wasnt home and thats all I cared about. So Jane Fonda really meant nothing to me then. Ive learned so much more about the war in Vietnam since and the treatment of our soldiers when they returned... and now, how they were treated as POWs. Personally, I TRY very hard to forgive and forget the mistakes of others... the forgive part is always easier when its preceded by a sincere apology but the forget is ALWAYS the bigger challenge. So forgiving and forgetting is even tougher when the perpetrator wont even acknowledge their wrongdoing. Really Mr Obama? Woman of the Century?
