I know I already made a Facebook post about this before but I have to say I have done it and obtained the first part of my dream in life! I have obtained my private pilots license and completed my first year of school with really good grades. I have to say that along the way I have met some people that I consider to be some of my best friends because they have helped cheer me up when I am down. Also, I believe that the strength of friendships with my life long best friends have become stronger as a result of this. Throughout this year I have had the opportunity to learn more about myself then ever before. I have learned how to take a stand for myself and how to have confidence in seeking the things I desire most. I have learned how much I can take before I break and how good friends can help put you back together by talking to you. There are only two things a person needs in life to be truly successful and thats friends and family. You know, those people that keep pushing you on, even when you dont want to be pushed. The people that even though you dont listen to their advice, they are right about it and dont rub it in. I have learned that I am capable of anything I put my mind to as long as I have the dedication to do so. Without the help of God, I dont know how far I would have gotten because he is always there to lift me up. I am so happy today that I have gotten my Private Pilots License :D This is probably, actually no undoubtedly the best day of my entire life! I have had some amazing people to look up to on the way through this and I had an amazing role model who I shaped my life after. Although he may be in a better place at this time, he is the reason that I pursued becoming a pilot! I still sit there and judge my actions based on what he would think of me, if he were still here. I just wanted to again thank those that have supported me and that have never doubted my for a moment! You have all helped make me the man I am today! I have grown up since the start of this journey and I will continue to grow and mature as I go through this. My mind is set on one thing for certain, proving to the world that I can conquer my dreams and that no amount of fear is going to control my life! Time to step up and take action! I am going to do this and you will all be on a plane with me one day and be like, Oh Dear Lord, Beekman is flying this! However, it will be the best damn flight ever because I am confident in my skills as a pilot! Thank you all Again! No matter who you are, or if you think that you have done nothing. Just know that you have helped push me along this pathway! I appreciate all your love and continued support! Anything Can Happen :D -Flyers Prayers- When this life Im in is done, And at the gates I stand, My hope is that I answer all His questions on command. I doubt Hell ask me of my fame, Or all the things I knew, Instead, Hell ask of rainbows sent On rainy days I flew. The hours logged, the status reached, The ratings will not matter. Hell ask me if I saw the rays And how He made them scatter. Or what about the droplets clear, I spread across your screen? And did you see the twinkling eyes. If student pilots keen? The way your heart jumped in your chest, That special solo day- Did you take time to thank the one Who fell along the way? Remember how the runway lights Looked one night long ago When you were lost and found your way, And how-you still dont know? How fast, how far, how much, how high? Hell ask me not these things But did I take the time to watch The Moonbeams wash my wings? And did you see the patchwork fields And moutains I did mould; The mirrored lakes and velvet hills, Of these did I behold? The wind he flung along my wings, On final almost stalled. And did I know I it was His name, That I so fearfully called? And when the goals are reached at last, When all the flyings done, Ill answer Him with no regret- Indeed, I had some fun.
