I know everybody on FB everyone has the attention span of a gnat, but try to focus for a minute before the Friday Im gonna pass out feeling hits you. I have load and loads of friends who have had facial work done. Filler, Botox, full face-lifts - to all those reading this, dont get your panties in a bunch. Im not dissing the fabulous work youve had done, but lets be real - you can always tell when someone has had work done. It calls attention to their age, not the opposite. Nicole? Meg? They need to hold up a sign to tell you how they really feel (God knows you cant tell from their frozen foreheads). But as Ive gotten past 40 I saw the lines on my face and the turkey neck and I thought, Oh. Wow. Ew. And here is the deal - Im vain, I like to look good, I like to dress well and look fresh and healthy. Yes, its about ego and yes, its not very yogic, but shame to the devil as poor Carrie said to Tommy Ross right before she blew the crap out of that gymnasium, which is why many years ago I started to seriously moisturize. I mean, dunk my face in skin cream day and night moisturize. I used to put on so much my eyes would sting in the summer and Id sweat as the cream and sweat would mingle and run into my eyes and Id stumble down 5th avenue of Manhattan, my hands in front of me like that poor older chick from the movie Damien: Omen II who got her eyes pecked out from that Satan crow and then the truck slammed into her (best scene in that stupid movie, except for the black dude who got cut in half in the elevator scene which is pretty racist if you really think about it). ANYWAY - so Ive spent years avoiding the needle because of how I didnt want to look frozen, so I started up a daily regime with Rodan and Field cream a few months ago and everyone has been telling me, You look like you had Botox but not Botox, you know? Yea, I do know. I was very leery of Rodan and Fields, but trusted my friend Katie and, well, its been pretty amazing how awesome I look. Im just saying this to say this, Im not endorsing anything by writing this, and because Im pretty unfiltered, not sure my friend Katie Mussler (she sells the suff and shes amaizng) will want me to link to her FB page BUT if you are interested, PING me and Ill send you Katies info. xx
