I know tumbling is controversial...but I visit a beach when I am in Maine that is sheltered by a barrier island, and so does not seem to experience the wave action needed for good frosting. But, much of the glass I find there is rare in color and pattern, and is obviously old. I can be confident no one has seeded this glass, as it will never be well frosted on this particular beach. Thus, I see no reason to leave it on the beach, and every reason to enhance its beauty via tumbling! Yes, it is altered glass and this is how I describe it...but lets face it...Drilling is altering as well! (Thanks to my niece and nephews and their spouses for the gift of the professional quality double barreled tumbler for Xmas 2012! )
