I learned the basics of Yoga about 5 years back followed by a well wisher’s recommendation in pursuit of a better revival from a ligament injury which happened to me during a domestic club level seven’s football semifinals. ‘Kavil Bhavan’ is a hermitage where Yoga is being taught; which is situated on top of a mountain rock in a village called ‘Nileshwaram’. I was there as an inhabitant experiencing 10 days and nights accompanied by the natural diet and simple lifestyle as per a tight and customized time table. They inducted me the Yoga and naturopathy. Some elderly people who crossed their 70s found to be flexible than me with more energy, charm and luster on face upon their prolonged Yoga practice since some years. They were the practical motivators and appeared as the ambassadors of the unquestionable power of Yoga. Over last 5 years, I have been practicing Yoga even If I had some breaks amid due to my indolence. Even then, I firmly believe that Yoga stole considerable number of inches from my trouser’s waist measure. Some weeks back, I happened to purchase ‘Padanjali’s Yoga Sutra of B K S Iyengar’ from the Crossword. It was an eye opener for me. This book helped clearing the cobwebs of quest which I have been engulfed with since ages. Through this book, I could diagnose and heal the reason behind my lethargy, stress, invisible despair, and confusion. Padanjali Maharshi was an Amsavathara of Lord: Adi Sesha and he introduced the world of Yoga to the mankind. According to him, Yoga is not just a tool to melt down the extra pound of fat and to remain physically fit. But, It helps correcting physical, physiological, psychological, intellectual imbalances. Best teacher of Yoga is Yoga itself. A practitioner will know more about it as he gets engrossed with it. Yoga helps an individual to go back to the nature and to unite with it. The book stood as Guru and inspired me to show justice to my inner drive. Our senses are inflicted by unlimited external stimulus. Most of the actions we do in daily life are being done not for ourselves but for someone else with a fragile justification. I can name a million or more of such factors here! Renunciation of such external factors magically started working as a driving force to look into myself and to know more about me. We should be particular about what to do and what not to do, what to see and what not to see, what to hear and what not to hear, what to eat and what not to eat, what to speak and what not to speak. Our mind should be the mastering charioteer to our senses. Actualizing the identity of self is the greatest knowledge and Yoga provides a platform to get into it. Cleansing our body, mind, intellect and effortless detachment from worldly illusions will qualify one to focus on the pious expedition to the eternal bliss.
