I *like* film too, I might even say Im a little bit nostalgic for it ... but there are no technology fetishests more obnoxious than those who love old technology. Theyre just tools, and tools dont make stuff good or bad. Ideas do. Technology just determines how (and sometimes, IF) you execute your ideas. The stuff I do wouldnt be possible if I had to work with film. So while I like film and the way it works and looks, being forced to use it as my only option would be a barrier to me doing anything. So get over yourself with your film fetish Quentin Tarantino, and just do the work.
