I listened to a video of Mooji this morning from his old YouTube - TopicsExpress

I listened to a video of Mooji this morning from his old YouTube channel. I didn’t’ care for the jerky nature video aspect which was distracting, but the audio message was perfect for me today. Spontaneous Existence ~ Satsang with Mooji ~ remix June, 16, 2009 youtu.be/3L5Ms3tA9Ko I wish I had a transcript of his message to read regularly. Okay, let me just do it now. When you say “I”, if you take “I” to be personal, your experiencing will feel more claustrophobic, more intense, more struggling, full of friction, you see, because you’re living life, your “I” is personal. If you say “I” when you say “I” and you remember the “I” is consciousness, experience “I” as consciousness and not personal and taste the difference and see. This is practical advice. Many times, even if you just observe, when you say “I” or listen to any conversation. Go to a café and sit quietly and listen to conversation, how many times is there “I, me, my, mine, you them, me, me,” like this and just look and see how many times the “I” is being referred to from the point of consciousness and whether “I” is personal and you’ll have an idea of perhaps how often your using it and just always personal. Even people who are called spiritual people in practice for many years also are still strongly identifying “I” as personal, you see. Why it is like this? If you begin to investigate like we have been doing, to look and to see that even the idea you have of yourself, because that’s what it is. We are living in aversion, an idea we have about Self, and it’s not constant. It’s like a constantly changing self-portrait, shaped by mood, shaped by where you are at the moment, who are your friends, all of these things is affecting the behavior of the “I.” But, almost always we are thinking of “I” as person. “I” is actually consciousness and is that part within yourself that is silent, in whose presence all of this is taking place, but is not actually participating, not actually. It just watches passively. Another thing you can do. Everybody knows the feeling “I Am.” What I’ve just said before is the tendencies to convert the “I Am” into a Me, into something particular, somebody’s daughter, somebody’s wife, somebody’s husband. You see, this is the reflex of our conditioning now. We do this, no? So I say to you, if, when “I” arises, I’m just throwing this seed somewhere inside your universe, okay, that the sense “I” is impersonal. It is just a sort of weakness. It’s not dead, it’s not flat, it’s not boring, it’s not a drop-out, not a hippie, you see, it’s not a monk, it’s not any of these things. It’s just a space within yourself that is untouched, actually. It witnesses, but it doesn’t witness with self-interest. It simply sees. Are we in recognition of that or not? You see, from there you can watch the story of the Me taking place, and if you’ve understood that the story of me is only one of the aspects in which that “I Amness” manifests as so personal. It tastes existence, it tastes diversity, through this role it plays as a person, then the role is not really a problem. It’s the identification with the role and the belief in that identification that I am this person that keeps you limited, keeps you feeling, “Well this is just who I am,” and so on, you see. And the more you recognize that “I” is what? Just even this question, already your space is opening up, panoramic, open, expansive. (Less diversity?) Another way that may be easy for you is you are aware of the feeling “I Am.” If you own only to the feeling I Am, but don’t try and describe it, okay. Don’t add anything more to it. Don’t allow it to connect with any other concepts, just all the sense I Am, let it incubate in itself. Just stay as a feeling I Am. Nothing more than that. Some thoughts are coming to want and play with the I Am, “Come, let’s go play, let’s go, come, come,” and you are aware of them. You’re just aware of them. You cannot stop their appearance, but if you’re not engaged with them, they lose their pulling power and only the I Amness is shining by itself. Would that be easier? You have the freedom, you see, that sometimes a mood comes to play like this and at the time it blows like this, it’s okay. This is already something great if you can hold on only to your natural sense I Am. You didn’t create it, it’s there, and don’t allow it to roam about picking up all the concepts. Just stay with that and see what happens. Then already a tremendous force of peace and joy is surrounding this, this sense I Am. You don’t have to do anything at all. This is my experience, you don’t have to do anything at all, yet, activities take place. Activities are taking place in the presence of that. This is my experience, that everything, once someone calls you father, someone calls you friend, one calls you uncle, one calls you brother, one calls you son, and all these roles you play spontaneously without having to get into a role. Isn’t it, somebody calls you so many things, do you have to get into uniform, “Ah, sister, okay sister, too.” No! It’s spontaneously, no? In the same way all your actions are happening spontaneously. You don’t have to get preparation time. You’re there. This is spontaneous existence, but the mind doesn’t trust it. We’re educated not to trust this, that you must, you know, carve out a route and you know, find your direction, follow your dream and all of these things bring a kind of noise into you and brings trouble for you because it makes you busy and have to be about something. Even when you rest you feel guilty, you eat lunch standing up, because you feel, you know, “I can’t waste time.” You picked up all these concepts, because it’s an idea, if I’m not up doing, then you know, I’m just counting numbers. And it’s not like this. It’s not what the Sages discover. We have a feeling that if you relax enough sufficiently into your own natural state the work will not be done. Well, some work will not be done. The work that need not be done will not be done, but mind doesn’t want to take risk, because as soon as it imagines, “Oh all this work I’ve got to do,” then it becomes a slave to it’s own projections. And you imagine that the world is requiring of you to do all this work, but it’s you who create it. Instantly you take, somehow, a bit of space just to sit with yourself and space comes into your Universe. You find that you don’t have to decide so much. The next move, if there is one to come, it manifests as some inner urge and it’s some power makes it happen, carries it forward. But, do we put it to the test? Usually not, in fact, many things that we have up here in the mind itself is not our actual experience, it’s just the noise inside your head and we listen to it, we feel it’s so important, you see. You can put some things to the test. At a certain point you won’t have to test anything anymore.
