I love Levenshulme for what it is, not what it isnt. There - TopicsExpress

I love Levenshulme for what it is, not what it isnt. There seems to be frequent moaning about where I live from some people who live here. Too many betting shops. No nice restaurants. A plethora of takeaways. Only nasty pubs and nothing with an open fire, leather sofas and somewhere one can take ones children. The demographics, economics and social mix in and around Levenshulme work against having loads of boutiques, fancy foodie shops, posh restaurants and gastropubs. But we do have an ironmongers, electrical shop, fireplace shops, a plumber or two, window shops, carpet shops, door dipper yard, local garages/repair places, an excellent local diy store and an appliances and shop fitting place as well as the fabulous antiques village. Personally, I think we are blessed in Levenshulme and love the shops and businesses we have. I love the practicality of Levenshulme. And its not as if we are short on pubs and a small but wonderful collection of places with nice food such as Isis Cafe, Trove and Pod. Oh, and with the market going weekly how many loafs of artisan bread and bags organic fruit, veg and meat does one really need in a week? I think we are very well served and improving all the time. I love Levenshulme for what it is and would prefer to celebrate that rather than moan and complain about what it isnt.
