I love being Brookes mom. I love being Audrey and Jules mom. I am the luckiest mommy in the world to be sent a real angel child. But does it make me a bad person if I am sad things cant be a little easier when it comes to traveling or actually going anywhere? I see friends going off with their husbands on anniversary trips, weeklong vacations, fun things, the beach, things I selfishly love to do and would do. But I have no one to take care of Brookie and a week away from her is impossible. And vacations as a family with her are complicated, difficult. I have amazing amazing nurses but not enough nursing hours to cover a real vacation. Sorry I said it. It is the things people often take for granted that special needs families wish they could partake in. I have a feeling our anniversaries will be at home, never anywhere exciting or exotic. I know it is not important. I am really not trying to whine. Just giving a glimpse of how I am feeling about it. Sigh...the things you give up seems like a never ending list. Again, I love being her mommy so much you guys know that:)
