I love my church because............. I know that I am where - TopicsExpress

I love my church because............. I know that I am where Jesus wants me to serve Him. I am called to love the church and I choose to do so unconditionally. We believe in the bible as the inherent Word of God. Jesus is the Head of my church. Right now my church is very lovable because of the people God has banded together over time. I see Gods hand working in all of our lives to change us to be better and better people because we want Him to and invite Him to. The presence of the Holy Spirit can be felt there in a powerful way. People who are truly seeking God will find Him there and be transformed. I have seen the scriptures lived out in the hearts of the people there as we have banded together to overcome life. We are a loving family that wants to share our love of God and each other with our community. Jesus said , You will know them by their love for one another. This brings me to what God has lain on my heart lately. I just read an article about why so many people are leaving our churches now days. The article blames the nation or world wide church as a whole for not meeting the needs of the people and basically driving them away because the church is not meeting the physical needs as it should be. Only catering to the senses with music and coffee shops and light shows and you get the picture. Its a little more detailed of an article than that and some of it is true, so I decided to extrapolate. So sit down and have a good read. This is from my heart. And thats where Jesus lives. You might find something in here that He can use in your life. In fact Im sure of it. The truth is that most of the people walked away from Jesus when things got hard as well. When they walked away by the hundreds, He looked at His disciples and asked if they were leaving too. Their comment was priceless. Where would we go. To whom would we turn. You are the Son of God our Messiah. God is still able to work through everyones heart who will let Him, and change them. If you walk away from a church, then God cant use you to help it change either. Its hard work to change. Not easy to admit we ourselves might need to change , but we all need to be changed more and more to be like Jesus. Most people walk away when God tries to change something that is uncomfortable for them. Of coarse it is different for every individual who leaves the church. There are many many reasons why people leave churches. Some are very valid. Others are simply funny. But here is the kicker. Jesus said I will build My church. To me that means He is working, to build a body of believers, who trust in Him to build it right. If He said He would do it then who am I to say Hes not. The gates of Hell will not prevail against it He said. I think that pretty much means nobody or nothing can stop it. So yes we have a lot of problems in our churches today because with people are problems, but.....I like what my pastor says. A problem in the church is another opportunity for Jesus to be glorified as we work it out the way He says to in the scriptures. However, as we see in most individuals, it is easier to run away from problems than to do the hard work of working through them. Thats why most people leave the church. God is still alive and well and working in the hearts of men and women throughout our churches. He can use any church, yes even a bad church, to help someone who is truly seeking Him. After all there are NO limitations to what God can do. By all means find a decent church if there is one nearby, but let God use you to fix an ailing church if thats what He calls you to do. You see God knows where He can use everyone. He saves us FOR the church. To use our special gifts and talents to make the church better. If we keep moving from church to church looking for the best one, I dare say you will never find it because they are filled with imperfect people whom Gods not done with yet. The Solution: Find the church that GOD wants you to attend and dont leave it until GOD has accomplished everything through you that HE wants to accomplish and then moves you somewhere else. Yes it could get tough. You could be uncomfortable. You might suffer. People may slander you. Through stones. Spit on you. Hey they could possibly even crucify you and divide your clothes. But dont give up on the church where God wants to use you. He never gave up on you and never will. After all its His church, and He prepared you for it. You go there for Him not yourself or anyone else. If you leave the church where God wants you then you are walking out on Him and choosing your own path. Writing your own story instead of being in His. This isnt directed at anyone in particular. Its something Ive been pondering for awhile. I just got going with an article that was posted about bad churches and why people are leaving them. There are some valid things in the article, but a lot of it are just excuses that people use to justify their own behaviors. In the end times there will be a great falling away from Jesus. The bible says that people will want their ears tickled with good fun things. God will still be trying to work in those bad churches up to the last minute to save people. And He does the work through us. We are His hands and feet. So where will you be. Doing battle on the front line, or front row of the church. Or sitting at home waiting for Jesus. For those bible scholars. Dont get caught with your lamp oil low. I will be trying to stay where Jesus wants me. Nothing more, nothing less than available to Him. Shoulder to shoulder with my brothers in Christ who are holding on like I am to the promise that He gives us when He said. I will build My church and the gates of hell WILL NOT prevail against it Hope you found a nugget or two to chew on. If you read through to the end? Thank You for listening to a word that I believe came from My Lord Jesus to you. If not then well you done missed out on something the Lord is trying to do in your life again. Hope He gets through to those who quit reading before its too late for them to receive all the blessings He has for those of us who work in the church. Im Just Living The Dream
