I love positive reinforcement but I dont accept it as an all we can do for anyone solution I understand it is needed as a means to support each other Hell I use positive words of encouragement more than anyone and you know that Lee I even take it to ridiculous levels that is looked at as sarcasm many times but Thats my point When I told Keith He is a better man than me I meant it I wasnt insulting him or using sarcasm I was pushing the boundaries Not resting on my laurels And there was certainly a better way to respond to Keith at that moment but why? So I wouldnt step on his toes? We need to stop treating each other like babies or cripples or disabled people that need caregivers Does that mean stop with the lazy easy support structure of brainwashing ourselves to be happy by telling each other stay positive or keep fighting or Im praying for you that enables us to feel sorry for ourselves instead of actually doing something for ourselves and others directly? Hell no it doesnt We all need our brains washed with care and encouragement Or at least I do So when I challenge people and myself to do more than type a happy comment it isnt to tell them to stop doing it Its to tell them to not stop there Dont settle for an accepted social statement deemed appropriate or decent way to support someone Find a way to do more to help them And my point for posting a gofundme link wasnt to ask for money is to start the ball rolling To Challenge accepted social conventions that enable us to hide behind limitations we put on ourselves that effectively disable us a hell of a lot more than pd does why is it taboo to even discuss providing financial support? Why do you think I start projects like OMR and needs to be said? why not just keep doing interviews? or just keep making exaggerated and over the top positive and encouraging videos to inspire all of us? why should I settle for saying to Lisa Rainey Ill pray for you instead of working with her on a personal direct level and try to put our heads together to raise money to help her but thats just it MONEY LOL it changes things doesnt it People dont like it when u suggest doing more than typing words of encouragement on a FB post God forbid we actually give without getting back Who am I to tell people that if they really want to help someone then HELP THEM!!! let me ask you this Lee Lisa needs help fighting PD she doesnt need information She doesnt need encouragement She needs money Plain and simple So how should I help her Lee? im actually directing this to me beleve it or not im searching for my own answers right now i dont see another way to help lisa she needs money How do I decide who needs financial assistance? well as outrageous and ridiculous as it seems making my a gofundme account is a way to use a simple tool to give people an opportunity to donate money the only way i know how to choose who needs it and who doesnt is by handling each need on an individual case by case basis and im choosing to have faith in each individual
