I love that every woman on our team carried the Mens Weight (20 L) - TopicsExpress

I love that every woman on our team carried the Mens Weight (20 L) during the Tri-State Battlefrog yesterday. But for anyone to fully grasp what our team did, lemme explain the terrain: The mornings rain had drenched the entire course, especially the 1/4-1/2 mile of motocross up and down terrain. The non stop prinklers made, what would just be mud up to our shins, become QUICKSAND we all face planted into at least once. Yup, mud in our mouths and eyes for those who curl their nose at what this lifestyle is. And I love that we carried it the GORUCK way vs how most women we passed...dragged... theirs. (Note: Carry the weight across your shoulders whenever possible or at lesst only drag heavy shit when there is little resistance.) I love that, while others were bent over to catch their breath from dragging the 20L behind them in the mud, each of our teammates set our jaws and literally RAN UP nearly every hill. But most of all, I love that as we finished completely exhausted the first 1 mile of the event, we still set our 20L back into organized formation for redistribution vs dumping them by the side, ungratefully, to show the volunteers we appreciated their standing in that wet, chilly morning weather. I know Im no Elite Heat athlete so for the rest like me, who go into Open Heat: The intent isnt if you can cross that damn Finish Line--- its what you learn about yourself while charging towards it. So freggn thankful to have had Brendan Dunn, Jeanette Sabrina, Terri Hines, Rosa Galler and Valerie Simmons-Hoff on a team with me. Im one lucky weirdo.
