I love watching the haters of the ice bucket challenge. You know, - TopicsExpress

I love watching the haters of the ice bucket challenge. You know, the same ones that complain that there is never anything positive on the news! The ones who like to point out another charity and how nobody cares about THAT charity! Or, the ones that are simply sick of it and think it has gone far enough, or are questioning why people are doing it instead of donating. So, heres my suggestion to each. First, it is something positive for a change, and now you dont like it. Hypocritical much? This is a positive thing to help a horrible disease. If you dont get a good feeling about this, look in the mirror and find a way to be more positive about your life. Once you are, you will be a happier person all around and life will be so much better. Trust me on that one! Second, instead of hating (yes it is hating) on somebody elses brilliant idea that is the most successful charitable campaign since Lance Armstrongs yellow bracelt, come up with a creative and enticing idea for your charity. Hate makes people so ugly. Try to turn that energy into something positive and help make the world a better place. That might actually help the first group of people see more positive news stories that they can then complain about. Third, the main goal is awareness. Awareness will eventually lead to greater donations. From 7/22 - 8/11 ALS raised about $22,000 last year. This year during the same dates they raised approximately 1.35 million. This has been nothing short of spectacular for this organization. If you dont like seeing it on your Facebook news feed, heres an idea! SCROLL PAST THEM AND MOVE ON! Most mouses now have a wheel as a third button that enables faster scrolling. If you dont have one of these mice, take some money that you are not donating to a charitable cause and go buy a new mouse with the wheel. I LOVED Robin Williams and was deeply saddened by his death. I admit I was tired of seeing so many posts (Some friends posted 5 or 6 items in a 3 hour period)! Most people posted old movie clips or clips of him or various interviews he did. But some posted the suicide prevention number and articles on how to recognize depression. I read the latters posts, and scrolled past the former. So, please accept my apologies if a worth-while, genius, idea successfully went viral and ruined your Facebook time. Personally, I hope this goes on for a lot longer and I look for other brilliant ideas to spread awareness for other worthwhile charities.
