I made a pit stop at a service area outside of Cincinnati, did my business and started walking towards the exit / entry when I saw an elderly lady had tripped and fallen in the doorway. A girl and I ran over to her aid. She was laying in the doorway. I knelt down and asked her if she was hurt. She said, I tripped. I grabbed underneath her armpit, and saw that the girl with me didnt know what to do (not that I did...I acted on instinct). I told the girl to support her underneath her other arm to get her to her knees then, if she felt able, we were going to lift her to her feet on the count of three....one...two...three... Up she came. She steadied herself on the door. By then her daughter arrived...I asked, are you ok? She said, yes.....you mustve done this before? I said, no, maam, Im your guardian angel today. She said, thank you. I gave a slight smile and nod and replied, yes, maam the kindness of strangers goes a long way, friends. pay it forward....
