I made an incredible smoothie for dinner yesterday. It was perfectly sweet, thick and very satisfying. The best part I didnt feel guilty after I finished the entire glass. When we lived in Rio there was this really yummy snack I always liked to enjoy, an acai bowl. So think like a mixed berry with yogurt mixture, really thick and cold, topped with granola and fresh bananas. They have it all over small kiosk on the beach over there. I miss those bowls. In attempt to get that, but in a smoothie form I took an acai pack (they sell them frozen in organica here in Panama) dropped it in the blender with a frozen banana, coconut milk, cucumber, hemp seeds (protein) and chia seeds (protein as well as thickness and other natural goodies). Blended this up until it was smooth. It actually made a big glass and a half my mom enjoyed the rest. I also had after a granola bar I made a few days ago. It was this healthy completely vegan and gluten free homemade granola bar that everyone at home demolished. I took the basic granola recipe from oh she glows and added my own twist. She used oat flour I replaced that with quinoa flakes, added a different jam. It had GF oats, maple syrup, coconut oil, quinoa flakes, cinnamon, hemp seeds. Then I pour the jam made from fresh mango and frozen pineapple, sprinkled some chia seeds in there and cooked it. The bars then were sprinkled with some nuts for a crispy topping. Cale had about two bars, my mom kept sneaking pieces of it, I had one and according to my Abue they werent sweet enough. Then again I am not into sweeten things as much as I used to.
