I make a habit of not being offended about things that God is not offended about. Ah, but thats the big question in your mind, isnt it? Is God offended and angry about __________. First, if youre asking that question in regards to another persons behavior then youre already off track. Try getting to know God for you before you try to know God for someone else- youll be one hundred percent wrong every time if you dont experience Gods voice and intentions for you first. Second, hit the delete button on what youve been taught and start exploring God all over again. Third, fall in love with the Holy Bible. Dont read it through the lens youve always been taught, but read it for yourself as you did when you were young. Ask childlike questions again and youll find truth. Fourth, hold hands again with the Holy Spirit. Become acquainted with Him again and youll hear His thoughts and know His ways. Everything becomes alive when you do this. Fifth, you dont have the right to be offended. You have the right to love. Youre in the wrong self and clinging to truths that are imprisoning you if youve become a protestor rather than a protector. Being passionate, compassionate, or desiring justice is Gods and will be demonstrated through you through love. Lastly, 1 John 4: 7-10: Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Since its not that we love God and try to keep his commands that keep Him happy with us, but its that He loved us first- then the questions shouldnt be, Should I be offended about this? your question should be, how can you receive the love that God has for you and spill that truth onto everyone else around you. The gospel is attractive and compelling when its personal, active and lived through you. Being offended with your neighbor and yourself is a sure sign that youre living outside of the gospel.
