I moved 3000 miles away from all of my friends and family because I thought it was the best decision, business-wise. Its really not THAT easy to come to terms with only seeing your family twice a year, for chasing a dream that 99% of people will tell you isnt realistic. But after being in Los Angeles for almost a year, I will assure you that it is definitely realistic. I got a little lucky with finding a very talented and all around good group of guys who go by the name of Fused By Defiance, but nothing guarantees success. Let me not say success, I would already consider myself successful, lets say professional musician aka payin da billzz. We work full time jobs, and then the band is a full time job. And LA dont make it easy... sometimes a 30 minute opening slot will run $1-2 thousand, due at check in. Theres alot of competition out here, and having a budget is essential to keep the ball rolling. We decided to run a Kickstarter for our next release, slated for March, with a goal of raising $500. With only 4 donors, were already over half way there. But $500 was really just to cover getting the CDs printed. The more money we have to put towards marketing the songs, the further ahead we will be. I dont like asking for money, but I really hope you will want to support... Your boy is broke!
