I must tell you this story - you might have heard of my great great uncle John Isaac Roberts who drowned off the Hoylake lifeboat in 1906. He had five brothers and two sisters. His eldest brother, Harry, became a steam trawlerman in Fleetwood and served in the RNR during WW1. He was awarded the DSC for his minesweeping work. Last year, miraculously, a complete stranger contacted me and gave me this picture which he found in a junk shop in Fleetwood. It shows Harrys trawler, the Clotilde, ramming a German U-boat. Thrilling but a mystery. I have not been able to find either an account of the incident or anything about Harrys descendants. All advice gratefully received.
